Certified-recycled MassIDs can be added to new products that are being supplied to the market, enabling Producers to prove recycled content use. Today, consumers need to take manufacturers at their word for use of recycled content in sold products. But, given that we are in the age of Greenwashing, why would anyone believe what is being marketed to them? By using MassIDs, leading Producers can engage more transparently with their customers. Consumers can also verify the uniqueness and origin of each MassID themselves through, for example, a QR code on a bottle that identifies a list of unique MassIDs. Product differentiation for their circular, Zero Waste credentials, will help consumers make better purchasing decisions and ultimately help the Producers who are transforming recycling and ‘dewasting’ into a competitive advantage.
